At the Richmond Township Fire Protection District, the safety of your family is our top priority. We provide tips, resources, and guidance to help you prevent emergencies and respond effectively if they occur.
Home Fire Safety
Install smoke alarms: Place them inside every bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on every level of your home. Test them monthly.
Create a fire escape plan: Identify two ways out of each room and practice your plan with all family members.
Keep fire extinguishers handy: Learn how to use them properly and place them in key areas like the kitchen and garage.

Kitchen Safety
Never leave cooking unattended.
Keep flammable items, like towels or paper, away from stovetops.
Teach children to stay a safe distance from hot surfaces and liquids.
